2K has announced two major additions to their roster, Cloud Chamber: A new game development studio under their wing. Little is known about Cloud Chamber, but the one thing we do know is that they will be leading the development of the next game in the Bioshock series.
“As we continue growing our product portfolio, we remain inspired by opportunities to invest further in our valuable IP, great people and their collective, long-term potential,” a well-made statement from David Ismailer, the current president of 2K.
There’s been a massive amount of negative press 2K received after their spat with sending private investors to a Youtuber’s home earlier this year following the release of their third Borderlands Game, Borderlands III. The well deserved criticism from that controversy put 2K in a terrible light, this only continued after the release of NBA 2K20 and WWE 2K20, Both games terribly received for different issues.
Regardless of the previous events, I for one am excited for what could be next in the Bioshock Series. After Infinite’s release in 2013, there was not much information regarding another installment for almost 7 years. With this announcement, we can expect something hopefully in the next year.
